Legiones Cataegis: Meet the Legiones IV, V, X, XII, XIV

Legio IV: The Iron Lords

The Iron Lords were one of the first fully formed legios. Experts of siegecraft, the legio was able to demolish even the mightiest fortifications in a matter of hours, and reduced many strongholds and cities to rubble for the Emperor.

The Masters of the Siege

Any heavy weapon carried by a model with this special rule gains Sunder. In addition, models with this special rule may add 1 to the result when rolling on the Building Damage Table.

Inflexible

In a mission where one side is the Attacker and the other the Defender, the Iron Lords must always be the Attacker.

Legio V: The Star Hunters

The Star Hunters favoured a mobile style of warfare. Instead of being bogged down in long combats, they instead developed tactics based on repeated disengagements, which would allow them to bring down a series of devastating charges upon their enemy.

Feigned Retreat

Any model with this special rule gains Hit & Run in any turn in which it was charged.

Mobile Forces

Any detachment of the Star Hunters must take more Fast Attack choices than Heavy Support choices, unless it takes no Heavy Support Choices at all.

Unto the Breach

A unit with this special rule may re-roll failed charge distances.

Out for Blood

If enemy units are within 12" during their Assault phase, models with this special rule must attempt to charge the closest enemy unit if able. If consolidating after combat, they must do so towards the nearest enemy model if one is present within 12".

Legio XIV: The Twilight Raiders

The Twilight Raiders excelled at beating a foe before the battle had even begun. Through a combination of deadly night attacks, and the use of ancient and cruel weaponry, the Legio annihilated many enemies before they were even aware of them. So destructive was their way of warfare, however, that they lost the trust of many of the allies fighting with them.

Chemical Warfare

Successful wounds with Poison or Fleshbane must be rerolled against any model with the Legiones Cataegis (Twilight Raiders) rule. In addition, any independent characters with the Legiones Cataegis (Twilight Raiders) rule may take Rad Grenades for +5 points and up to three Phosphex Bombs for +10 points each
